Calzones are typically made from pizza dough and stuffed with meats, cheeses and vegetables. The first one I ever tried was a plain cheese calzone which had mozzarella and ricotta and came with a side of Marinara for dipping.It was amazing and I was hooked right way, it’s taste was similar to a pizza, but its shape allowed you to eat it on the go.
In this video I will show you a plain cheese traditional calzone. You can use my pizza dough recipe and my quick marinara recipe for this. These are delicious and so easy to make, once you try one you’ll be hooked too. But be warned, the shape of the calzone hold the ovens heat extremely well, so cutting it open and giving it time to cool down is a must.
